Gentle Release Therapy– Energy release

A wonderfully gentle therapy that could almost be considered a mixture of Reiki and Acupuncture (without the needles), which combined with additional techniques creates a synergy that allows the body to release.

I became a Gentle Release practitioner because of the help and support it gave me when I grieving the lost of my mother. I knew that I needed some energy work to be worked on me and I have to say I was blown away by the result and I how I felt afterwards and it has certainly helped on my grief journey.

Release? Release what? well, often in the first session a lifetime of stress being held in the body, that the client didn't even realise was there.

Gentle Release Therapy uses Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Theory to understand what's going on in the body. For example the Liver is a key organ in TCM it helps the flow of Qi (Energy) around the body, the Liver is linked to ligaments and tendons, so muscular tension may well be connected to the Liver. The emotions connected to the Liver are anger and frustration...imagine someone really angry and all those ligaments and tendons becoming so tight in their body they look like they might explode! The Liver is also linked with the time 1am to 3am, so if you find yourself waking at these times and not able to get back to sleep for a while, you and your Liver may appreciate some help. Gentle Release Therapy uses techniques to support and release not only the Liver energy but also the other key organs in TCM.

In addition to the TCM work with the abdominal organs we also incorporate cranial release regularly into treatments which involves an extremely light touch which can allow the body to release on another level. I also have techniques that release the endocrine (hormone system) and lymphatic system that can be used as required. All treatments are tailored to deal with what your body needs to release at that moment in time.

After treatments clients often feel lighter in both the head and abdomen and will very often be so relaxed they go and take a much needed nap, or be so energised they get loads of work done that they have been struggling with for ages!

If you are wondering if Gentle Release Therapy may help you please feel free to give me a call.

As a practitioner my aim is to get your body flowing back into balance, it's not what I do as such its about giving your body the time, space and permission to allow the release. Many of us we have it ingrained that 'we are fine' when actually we are very much not and could benefit from a little help.

Some clients benefit from coming for regular sessions, some clients just come every now and again when they feel they need it.

What to expect

Gentle Release Therapy, is a fully clothed therapy and you would normally lie comfortably on your back on a heated treatment couch, with support under your knees. Once super comfy I get you super snuggly with lovely blankets (if you wish)! I also treat clients whilst in their wheelchairs and this is fine too. Then you can just lie back and relax, sometimes conversation is useful to help the release, but if you want you can just fall asleep.

I can also offer Gentle Release Therapy sessions over zoom, we arrange a time for your treatment, I send you a link to a zoom meeting. Then at the appointment time we have a chat before you snuggle down to receive the treatment (we can turn the cameras off at this point) then you can either sleep or relax or I can talk you through the treatment I'm giving and ask you questions that intuitively arise to help release what is needed. We then turn the cameras back on to chat through what happened during the session.

After a treatment

Try to take it easy following the treatment, don't have too much planned in. Space for a nap or time to relax would be perfect especially after your first session, which may be quite intense.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect in a Gentle Release therapy treatment?

At your first treatment, please allow an hour. An in-depth first consultation to discuss your general well-being you will be asked to lie down on the treatment bed. The bed will be heated, depending on the time of the year and you will be covered with warm cosy blankets to help you relax. During the treatment Nicky will not speak to you so that you can fully switch off and relax into the treatment. However, if you want to cough, burp, sneeze or have a drink please do, these are all signs that energy is releasing from the body.

At the start of subsequent treatments a brief consultation will be conducted to see how you are and how you are feeling from your previous treatment.

All treatments are carried out in a private room on a therapy bed, with blankets to help keep you warm and aid relaxation. No oils or lotions are used as they are not necessary. A treatment can be performed over clothing.

What should I wear?

You can wear any day-to-day clothing.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments varies from person to person, but if you have a long-standing issue you will typically require more treatments than someone hasn't. No two people are the same and so no two treatments are the same.

Most people will start to experience the positive effects of Gentle Release therapy immediately after their first treatment.

It is recommended that you wait a week between treatments as clients often notice changes up to 5 days after their treatment and one treatment can initiate a cascade of beneficial changes within your body.
